Job Summary

Position Objective/ Summary:

This position is a group leading role and will serve as a leader, resource and subject matter expert for other members of the group. Responsible for understanding the region landscape, circuit-based term management, relationship development, creation and execution of vendor strategy, contract negotiations to reduce cost and enhance product offerings. Management of contractual terms and conditions to ensure compliance, communication of vendor strategy and capabilities to internal stakeholders, and facilitation of the vendor performance management process and direction of improvement plans in order to ensure vendors are performing to operations requirements and meeting contractual SLA commitment. Responsible for managing a set of vendors and associated spend for company's primary off-net, leased transport and collocation providers in Asia Pacific. Specifically, requires knowledge of and ability to work closely with Regional and Local vendors.

Job Description

  • Manage a team of Carrier Relation Managers responsible for all actions related to new and existing contracts, incremental/reduction of cost, SLAs and vendor performance.

  • Support the network expansion activities via commercial negotiations with vendors

  • Manages, reviews and executes vendor agreements into a single, "most desirable" purchase contract for the company

  • Achieves cost savings through circuit term management and negotiate cost waivers and reductions on embedded base of inventory.

  • Manages spend with key vendors and monitors company's performance against buying plans and revenue commitments. Takes action to correct if spend is not in accordance with requirements.

  • Develops business relationships and business plans with each carrier that maximize buying potential for the company.

  • Review of vendor and internal performance reports to monitor vendor performance and proactively initiate, develop and drive supplier Vendor Improvement Programs when performance is not achieving the acceptable requirements or contractual SLAs, thus impacting Customer Experience; follow up on all actions, focusing on driving outcome to the identified success criteria.

  • Tactically understand corporate performance in all aspects of the customer/supplier relationship and proactively communicate areas of improvement & recommend action plans across partner organizations.

  • Lead service improvement activities and scheduled reviews to calibrate results between external and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • MBA preferred

  • More than 10 years’ of experience participating in operations reviews, driving continuous process improvement in the organization.

  • Extensive APAC telecom experience and excellent relationships with major providers in key markets.

  • Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking and the ability to operate with a lot of self-direction are essential.

  • Executive level presentations or communications may be required.

  • Ability to operate in an environment of competing and changing priorities, operating in an autonomous fashion, while juggling multiple tasks and functions.
