Job Summary

The Staging Technician 1 for EMEA Design Support and Staging Team (DST) will be responsible as part of a team for pre-activation preparation of Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) (Cisco, Netscout, Juniper and Adva); this will include equipment check, CPE test, verifying design engineering documents, and build and load of CPE configurations, to support IP Managed Services in the EMEA region.

Job Description

Manage implementation of customer orders to both meet customer expectations and deliver order revenue in line with business commitments. Ensuring SLA’s are adhered to and customer expectations are fulfilled.

Ensure Customer Satisfaction is maintained by achieving delivery targets.

Prepare CPE configurations using Engineering documentation, in support of customer activations. Ensure accurate Staging (test and build) of approved CPE equipment built to design specification for use on the company's network.

Maintain equipment records and as-built documentation, and update inventory systems and order systems to ensure up-to-date records.

Provide IP test and build support to the Stores & Field Operations Engineers.


  • Experience with an internet service provider.

  • Knowledge of interfacing with internal teams for dependency resolution such as Operations, Product, Engineering and Sales organisations.

  • Knowledge and experience of TCP/IP and OSI.

  • Some knowledge of network design and engineering principles, theories and concepts.

  • Some knowledge of Cisco routers/switches hardware and software and relative data equipment. Experience of: OSI, layer 2 switching, vlans, hsrp.

  • Knowledge of Staging of Cisco products.

  • Skills with electronic test equipment.
