Job Summary

The Director of Portal, API Product Management is responsible for leading the orchestration of strategy alignment for Enterprise Portal, Customer API, Next Gen Portal and Mobile capabilities with a focus on improving the customer and employee experience through self service capabilities which resolve customer challenges. Serving as the primary interface for strategic alignment of one or more of the key functional areas, this individual will work closely with cross functional leadership to increase the velocity of integration and development, establish and maintain linkage between the customer experience and development roadmaps, establish standard design principles, improve methods for effective operational execution, and establish a scalable framework to serve as the customer and employee’s advocate within strategy.

Job Description

  • Work collaborately as a member of the leadership team to achieve the organizational goals, objectives and priorities as tied to the strategic plan.

  • Analyze and synthesize external market assessments, benchmarks, dynamics and best practices to drive strategy and execution.

  • Maintain linkage with Business and Product leaders advocating for cross functional collaboration to maximize the effectiveness of strategy support, ensuring synchronization of activities, minimizing duplication of efforts and establishing best practice standardization.

  • Develops, manages and sustains a governance and operational support framework supporting the key business imperatives; ensuring leaders and teams are operating within established standard design principles, receiving the appropriate requirements and support from the broader organization. Coordinates with leaders and cross functional teams to ensure appropriate prioritization, resourcing and velocity.

  • Lead the mindful development and coordinated execution of Portal, API and Mobile strategy rooted in customer inputs. Advocates for customer needs to drive solutions that solves for challenges through delivering recommendations, support and solutions to the development teams.

  • Consults within strategy and across the business using a broad level of knowledge and expertise. Responsible for reconciling and aligning goals/objectives with strategic growth initiatives to maximize the effectiveness of strategy value and support.

  • Effectively manage the end-to-end readiness of the Portal, API and Mobile capabilities: technical and operational readiness ensuring the business strategy is executed successfully.

  • Create and apply formal change management practices that ensure services and solutions related to the Portal, API and Mobile experience are baselined at kickoff and all changes thereafter are thoroughly scrutinized for justification, impact to the program and business.

  • Drive key learnings from launches back into the organization for continuous life-cycle and process improvements.

  • Set direction; define objectives and align priorities for the Portal, API and Mobile Product Management team

  • Deal with challenges that are broad, complex and abstract, often involving Company-wide issues. Must develop solutions using creativity, resourcefulness, innovation, negotiating and diplomacy.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA or equivalent education and experience in customer focused leadership position. Master’s Degree a plus.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience driving technical program management organizations.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience driving cross functional, collaborative teams, leading teams in matrix-driven organization, and facilitating collaboration between VP (EVP, SVP and VP) and Senior leaders across the company.

  • Aptitude for solving complex technical and operational problems while driving multiple priorities and programs and delivering against tight timelines in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience with Corporate Governance practices, Program and Portfolio Management Office environments including the establishment of the disciplines and building supporting organization.

  • Outstanding communications skills up, down and across the organization. Ability to create clarity and drive focus in complex and dynamic contexts.

  • Ability to command control in highly visible situations
