Job Summary

The Director Service Assurance responsible for delivering solutions directly to our business partners in the Network and business channel units to ensure services offered over our networks meet a pre-defined service quality level for an optimal customer experience. These solutions identify faults in the network and resolve them in a timely manner so as to minimize service downtime. This organization alsoprovides the ability to proactively pinpoint, diagnose and resolve service quality degradations or device malfunctions before customers are impacted. Service assurance encompasses the following: Fault and Event Management, Performance Management, Probe Monitoring, Quality of Service Management, Network and Service Testing, Network Traffic Management, Customer Experience Management, Service Level Agreement (SLA) Monitoring, Trouble Ticket Management and Repair. A strong leader will be responsible for partnering with the Network and business channel unit organizations to develop a Service Assurance Roadmap , prioritize ongoing demand, and own ensuring delivery against those priorities to completion. This role requires base knowledge of the network, experience in these or comparable systems, and strong influential leadership skills to manage teammates in a matrix model.

Job Description

Meets business needs by managing the activities of developers consistently delivering quality solutions on-time, within budget, and scope.

  • Work with internal customers to gather business processes and project requirements.

  • Actively drives the development life-cycle from requirements analysis, lean estimates, design, code, documentation, testing, implementation, and support.

  • Developing project plans, resource planning, scheduling and managing development timelines.

  • Building and managing multi-disciplined software teams and overseeing the development processes using industry best practices.

  • Responsible for design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring the software development team.

  • Support change management process to manage software releases, application patching and changes to production configurations.

  • Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in high-pressure environments; excelling at pinpointing and resolving problems in early project stages to avoid cost/time expenses.

  • Oversight and management of department expenses and budget planning

  • Establishes goals and objectives for the organization based on senior leadership’s goals.

  • Provide leadership and motivation to the team to raise productivity levels

  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams - both domestically and internationally

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Possess strong people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties.

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

  • 12 years of specific experience in designated LOB/Function

  • 5 years of leadership experience working with a direct and/or matrix team.

  • Experience in Telecom industry

Additionally, we require qualified candidates who demonstrate:

  • Ability to drive a culture of quality and personal accountability through development and delivery teams.

  • They must have a commitment to quality through the ability to translate complex technical requirements into functional software using best practices.

  • Expertise in vendor contract management and management of distributed development teams and resources.

  • Expertise in Agile methods including SCRUM.

  • Experience in application architecture and making rational buy vs. build and interface decisions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work equally well in self-managed and team-based Agile/Scrum projects.


Master’s Degree with 10+ year’s experience


Bachelors or Equivalent

Masters or Equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering General
