The scope of this position includes management of 20-30 FTEs, plus $400M+ of inventory, $50M+ of transportation expense, and both outsourced and in-house operations.
Inventory planning is a key function for this role, which requires balancing working capital, expense and service levels. It also involves leading a team responsible for demand and supply planning, managing vendor and capital forecasting, collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers, managing product transitions and lifecycle, and developing and presenting capital plans to the executive team.
Logistics management includes managing transportation partners and associated processes, third party logistics providers, and the teams that perform these functions.
Management of inventory -primarily network equipment- maximizing service levels and reuse of equipment, while minimizing total costs and inventory levels. Oversee planning processes and systems, driving continuous improvement of process and outcomes.
Own inventory forecast and planning process, including demand and supply planning, collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendors, and development and tracking of financial approvals and metrics. Partner with Accounting to manage inventory reserve policy.
Responsible for development and management of an effective lifecycle process, ensuring smooth introduction and transition, and effective ramp down while allowing for post deployment support.
Management of direct freight activities with annual costs totaling more than $50 million, ensuring cost effective transportation service through effective management of routing, scheduling, and delivery of all purchased products. This also includes overall management of any outsourced processes relative to freight auditing, trade compliance, and day-to-day freight management.
Project management of key initiatives, including insourcing efforts, vendor transition, process changes and other continuous improvement initiatives. Develop business cases, partner with Finance to vet them, present to executive team to gain support and approval, and manage implementation.
Budget management, including expense, inventory and headcount, ensuring proper level of resources, while continuously improving processes and reducing total cost of ownership.
Team management, including hiring, developing, evaluating, while continuously raising the bar.
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience or the equivalent in training and experience, with progressive responsibilities in Supply Chain Management environment. Strong inventory planning experience required, ideally leading Sales & Operations Planning process
Analytical skills and proven experience in negotiation with clients and suppliers
Demonstrated leadership, oral and written communication, interpersonal relationship building, decision making skills
Typically 15+ years of relevant experience
Experience in Supply Chain Management in Telecommunications industry
Manages inventory and expense budgets to positively impact margin and free cashflows
Bachelors or Equivalent in Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
Masters or Equivalent in Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
