The selected candidate must be able to work with limited direction and complete tasks assigned by a team leader or manager to implement desired strategies. She/he will have good communications skills and some experience in presenting technical issues to a wide variety of audiences. The selected individual will be able to assist with completing tasks working with multiple departments and business units. In addition, the candidate needs technical knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
Gain an understanding of systems, processes, and workflows.
Develop automation and web tools which support policy enforcement teams based on current and future CenturyLink data product architectures and functions.
Analyze reported and discovered problems to design, develop, and implement solutions for systems supporting AUP enforcement teams.
Partner with product teams developing services to account for AUP requirements and needs.
Utilize systems knowledge to support a forward-looking vision which identifies business problems and resolves them before they happen.
Occasional off-hours support for systems, applications, and users of developed systems.
Able to perform upgrades, patching, hardening, user access permissions, routine maintenance, and end-of-life replacement of systems and applications.
Develop, modify and follow associated corporate and workgroup processes applicable to the role (e.g. change and outage management).
Provide guidance and mentoring to peers and business partners.
Interface with trusted third parties, partners, and vendors regularly to increase breadth of knowledge and support capabilities.
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
5 years of Red Hat Linux system administration. RHCE certification is highly desirable.
5 years of relevant development experience demonstrating application design, development and support as a tier 3-4 engineer.
4 years PERL development experience.
2 years PHP development experience.
2 years Python development experience.
Demonstrated logical and methodical approach to complex issues.
Experience in all areas of networking concepts for an enterprise and Internet Service Provider (ISP) and how they are applied.
Experience in generating and analyzing general system processing throughput, utilization, and capacity metrics.
Experience working in an environment with large enterprise data centers and networks.
Strong work ethic, willing to take and act on provided direction, ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Candidate must be willing to pursue, applicable professional/technical certifications, such as RHCE, CISSP, CISM or CISA.
Bachelors or Equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering General
