Responsible for managing capacity on the Centurylink National IP Public Network. Utilizes various tools including trending reports, SQL tables, BGP Flows, to proactively augment the IP Network. Considers deployment and install timeframes, growth rates, and established KPIs/SLAs to ensure efficient capacity management. Looks for opportunities to reduce expense by proactively reducing footprint, minimizing 3rd party colo’s etc.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to create and manage detailed plans while working in a fast-paced environment. Other requirements include:
· Candidate should demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
· Basic understanding of network concepts including routing and switching. Also has knowledge and experience with bandwidth relate terms, such as 95tile, Peak, pack drops, etc.
· Can recognize common network risks and provide the necessary redundancy required based on SLAs.
· Ability to quickly learn how to use different tools/software required to perform job.
· Simultaneously project manages multiple tasks to completion.
· Works well with Peers and has excellent interpersonal communication skills.
· Requires limited direction and guidance.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or statistical field or 4 years of relevant job experience. Relevant job experience is described as:

Education and Experience
Experience: 2-3 yrs in data science, IP networking or content delivery
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related
Experience with programmatic statistical analysis in Python and/or R; experience with Scala on Spark and with SQL helpful.
