Job Summary

Responsible for managing various dark fiber and conduit agreements related to the company’s fiber-optic network across North America. Management of the agreements includes negotiating new agreements, renewing and amending existing agreements, and providing analysis and guidance of the company’s rights and obligations under various agreements. Manages numerous agreements simultaneously as well as developing and providing progress reports and various metrics for the Network Infrastructure Services department.

Job Description

  • Acts as primary point of contact for the negotiation and acquisition of dark fiber and conduit agreements contracts.

  • Coordinates delivery and integration of infrastructure components with other functional groups.

  • Forecasts and manages expenditures related to infrastructure contracts and tracks impact to network expense, operating expense and capital expense budgets.

  • Provides support and expertise to post execution management of various fiber and conduit agreements. This includes: assembling contract deliverables, proper entry of related data into company tracking and financial databases, payment and analysis of invoices, contract renewals, etc.

  • Supports other organizations (Legal, Field Operations, Planning, etc.) in providing detailed analysis of various agreements, including rights and obligations under the agreement.

  • In cooperation with other functional groups, manages projects related to network operation and maintenance, requiring third party asset acquisition.

  • Provides estimated costs of various infrastructure components of projects related to network expansion/integration projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong experience in contract negotiation and management is required. Proficient use of Microsoft Office is essential. Proficient in the use of mapping platforms (Google Earth, ArcGIS) is desired. Experience in outside plant design and/or construction, or network planning is preferred. Additional experience in business management, financial management or the legal field is preferred. Must be a strong multi-tasker, be analytical with an attention for detail, and have experience coordinating across departments. Must be able to travel occasionally by airplane, automobile or other public mode of transportation. Must be able to work in a general office environment and be able to operate a computer and associated peripherals. Must be able to operate a telephone and communicate effectively with same. Must have and maintain the legal authority and physical ability to drive an automobile.

  • 5+ years of related experience
