Job Summary

The Senior Energy Analyst will be part of an energy management team that is focused on managing CenturyLink utility expenses in the most effective manner possible. The position will work with multiple key internal groups, as well as external consultants, and will be required to perform detailed energy analysis evaluations and generate subsequent reporting results from various internal and external data systems using advanced data evaluation techniques.

Job Description

  • Work closely with the Energy Manager in the development, implementation and tracking of energy management programs, processes, and metrics.

  • Analyze current portfolio energy usage and modify energy management plan to align with corporate operational and financial goals.

  • Work closely with energy consultants and finance team to develop electricity rate forecasts used to develop operating budgets, and support key internal customer groups.

  • Work with the external energy management consulting firms to facilitate energy procurement in deregulated energy markets.

  • Prepare demand forecasts for deregulated energy market procurements that incorporate sales projections, customer churn risks and finance assumptions.

  • Coordinate strategic planning and situation analysis on current and proposed energy initiatives.

  • Assist with development of long-range plans for the implementation of green initiatives and work with the operations team to properly position the company to take advantage of energy rebates and incentives.

  • Maintain and control data integrity and develop and document new processes for reconciling data.



  • Expert level knowledge of MS Excel, including the use of advanced data evaluation formulas, pivot tables, filters, and V-Lookups is required.

  • Three or more years experience demonstrating very strong analytical skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other technically related field.

  • Self starter with the ability to organize project parameters and work with minimum direction and supervision.

  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, maintain a high level of attention to data/result integrity, be detail oriented, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
