- In a 24x7 Network operating center (NOC) environment, Operations Technician 3 will monitors, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents on a fiber optics communications network to ensure near 100 availability of all system. The position services as the first point of contact for network outages. A qualified candidate will identify, document, troubleshoot, track, and resolve network incidents and standing outages. Operations technician is expected to follow standard operating procedures (SOP) to report incidents in a timely manner.
Responsible for active network monitoring including incident detection, fault isolation, fault management, and fault resolution
Provide first level troubleshooting and incident resolution of network issues and provide timely reporting and escalation of incidents in accordance with SOP
Using ticketing system, properly and accurately document on-going issues in accordance with incident tracking procedures. It include understand and acting according to reporting matrix and incident response requirements
Coordinate, de-conflict, and track Authorize Service Interruption (ASI) and ensure proper documentation of customer notification and concurrence.
With guidance from implementation team, Operations Technician 3 are expected to create and follow method of procedure (MOP) and execute turn-up of specified systems
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline with a minimum of 1 year of overall related experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
Hold DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, CISSP or equivalent) prior to start date
Ability to work in a 24/7 operation
Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, fault isolation, or performance management
Experience with one or more of the following technologies: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, Juniper, DWDM (6500, RLS, 9600)
General understanding of network topologies and the ability to understand signal flow of network architecture
