Job Summary

Provisioning Technician 2 is a mid- level position within the Provisioning organization. This is a customer facing position that requires ability to effectively handle customer interactions and ability to be customer centric. This role is responsible for configuration and implementation of CenturyLink services. Qualified candidates must have a strong understanding of network products and services.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Perform as a team player with ability to think creatively, identify areas for improvement and provide feedback to leadership

  • Assist in the successful customer activation of services provided

  • Assist with the completion of equipment configuration

  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

  • Work well with others to achieve common goals and to foster a cooperative climate

  • Complete designated amount of work in a specified timeframe with a high degree of quality

  • Coordinates with other departments and vendors to ensure on-time delivery of service to customers

  • Provide resolution of service issues through troubleshooting and escalating

  • Provide timely escalation of issues to leadership and other responsible parties

  • Perform other duties and assist where needed as identified by leadership

  • Maintain an high level of knowledge for the services provided

  • Provides training to peers


Work Environment:

  • May work with little supervision

  • Primarily performs work duties sitting, or standing at a workstation utilizing a computer for extended periods of time

  • Flexible shift as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant work experience

  • 2-3 years related experience in specific area or equivalent

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Have ability to take escalations and resolve issues within a timely manner

  • Have ability to adapt in a fast pace and changing environment

  • Have strong problem solving skills and ability to trouble shoot issues preventing the delivery of services

  • Have ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a production environment

  • Have ability to work varying shifts and hours including possible mandatory overtime and holidays

  • Have ability to adjust priorities or schedules to meet changing or work related demands

  • Have ability to efficiently and accurately work with multiple types of information

  • Have ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and be detailed oriented

  • Experience with implementation of circuits: DS1, DS3, Optical and Ethernet

  • Experience with network hardware including routers, switches, Wireless Access Points

  • Experience within command line configuring CPE routers and switches (Adtran, Juniper, Cisco)

  • Experience configuring network routing protocols (BGP, etc.)

  • Experience working with internet and private network solutions

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting MPLS and QOS

  • Experience troubleshooting network issues

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge for WAN and LAN topologies (2+ years)

  • Experience working in an enterprise call queue environment

  • Experience working on complex assignments within the network systems installation and/or maintenance activities

  • CCNA, JNCIA or equivalent work experience preferred
