Job Summary

Applying advanced systems and automation principles, this position will perform a lead planning engineer role for the Voice Planning systems organization and is responsible for a variety of systems, tools, reports, and automation initiatives to improve the efficiency of the voice planning functions and execution of plans to increase EBIDTA in a variety of ways.

Job Description

  • Will lead initiatives to gather requirements, model databases, find and extract data, generate reports, create web portals, and train end users across local and national voice networks for both legacy LVLT and legacy CTL

  • Will provide automation/systems support of local switch groom activity in order to increase scalability in removing local switches from the network to reduce power expenses, etc. including participating in large scale team process/scalability improvement sessions

  • Will provide automation/systems support of work flow activity for LENS assignment activity within the local planning environment

  • Will create, automate, and document custom data warehouse and reports utilizing SQL and reporting tools

  • Will administer Windows servers and SQL Server databases in both dedicated server and cloud environments

  • Will be responsible for the day-to-day support of voice planning data, ensuring the data is available, on-time and comprehensive to meet the needs of our customers

  • Will interface with IT and various vendors for application support during development, testing and maintenance activities

  • Must be able to develop new customer data requests into a solution, working independently and with peer teams

  • Must either have an understanding of BOT creation or be willing to learn in order to help create simplicity and efficiencies in various work flows/functions within voice planning

  • Exercises considerable latitude in decision-making under limited consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets.

  • Resolves difficult interoperability problems to obtain integration of data across systems, other databases, etc.

  • Acts as primary consultant to leadership detailing the technical requirements and specifications necessary to obtain solutions.

  • May act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for lower level employees.

  • This position has no direct reports but will be interfacing with a user community of 20-40 voice planners and as such, strong collaboration as well as written and verbal communication skills are imperative

  • In addition, regular interface with IT development, the Network Planning Voice Plng and Engineering team, and business channel representatives is crucial

  • Flexibility, shifting priorities and the ability to perform with minimal supervision are required attributes


  • Consulting Level Bachelor's degree. Typically with 8+ years of experience.

  • 6+ years of experience with Master's Degree.
