Job Summary

The Regional HR Manager is based in Germany, Frankfurt, which is one of the core countries on the European Continent and will be overlooking all matters relevant from an HR perspective.

The main responsibilities for the Regional HR Manager but not limited to the following are:

  • To be responsible for collaborating with HR Business Partner(s) (HRBP) to support key business initiatives and strategies which are not limited to local country, including recruitment, training, carrier development, termination.

  • To work in a trustful manner with the Works Council with respect to informing, consulting and co-determination.

  • To offer excellent generalist HR services to the Country Director, Management (whether local or abroad) and all local based employees in the five locations (Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt Hamburg and Munich). This includes advising on all HR queries regarding policy and procedures in compliance with local laws; processing all administration relevant to the department and activities with support of the HR Shared Services.

  • To ensure that accurate records (paper-based and electronic) are maintained and that procedures are followed all in line with local legislation. Provide required input/documents when it comes to local audits or ISO Certifications/Reviews.

  • To work closely together with the HR Shared Services team to ensure consistency and high-level customer end employee experience.

  • To be up to date with local legislations and procedures for implementation and advise the HRBP’s accordingly on suggested or required change.

Job Description

Understand the direction, priority and method of operation for the business and aligns work activities in support of those. Partner with one or more HRBP’s to support client group activity in the form of projects, process execution and general day-to-day needs.

Provide coaching and counselling to managers on performance issues in support of company and client group practices, policies, legislation and culture. Take action to improve performance where requested from client group organizations including up-front identification of needs.

Work closely with the Country Director, the local Management team and the staff. Provide day-to-day advice and support to leaders and employees regarding the interpretation and administration of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable statutes and regulations and approved company-wide employee relations policies and practices.

Work trustful with the Works Council by attending the monthly meeting which circulates between the five locations. Negotiate works agreements where required or demanded. Obtain feedback from stakeholders before signing any of such agreements.

Investigate employee issues and complaints and offers solutions to ensure timely and appropriate actions are taken. Conduct or participate in disciplinaries and grievances with the support of the functional HRBP

Prepare reports and analyses trend to client groups and the Works Council.

Provide input to HR best practices, policies and programs. Facilitate the delivery and execution of HR initiatives and practices and work closely with the HR Shared Services for implementation and education

In a team approach assist with matters where physically a function cannot maintain the work e.g. when it comes to hand-over or return of company cars or when it comes to questions from Real Estate regarding office space matters.

Attend the quarterly Health and Safety meetings. Follow-up on any upcoming statutory requirements.


  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in an International environment

  • Experience in liaising and negotiating with Works Councils

  • Strong knowledge of labour, tax and social law.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to produce results across multi-functional organizations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to develop strong internal and external working relationships.

  • Exercises good judgment.

  • Comfortable resolving conflict.

  • Ability to research and analyse data.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel

  • Excellent skills in English and German language, written and oral

  • Proven experience with works council meetings and negotiations

  • SAP experience is preferred
