Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Federal Programs, the Sr Director Federal Programs provides overall guidance for a portfolio of programs and projects supporting Special Programs. Responsible for securing classified contract(s) and successful implementation and expansion over contract life cycles.

Job Description

  • Responsible for oversight on the execution of Federal contract(s) and successful implementation and expansion over the contract life cycle

  • Manages ongoing external and internal relationships and generate new strategic opportunities and scope expansion on assigned contract(s)

  • Directs development and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure programs operate efficiently and addresses problems and deficiencies swiftly

  • Manages complex spend plans and ensures aspects of the program are operating within established budgets

  • Provide guidance to assess and mitigate operational risks and issues

  • Collaborates for contract negotiation and strategy

  • Ensures PMs manage complex spends and provide customer satisfaction through contract implementation

  • Provide analysis and implement actions on metrics to enhance productivity

  • Address key issues in organizing and staffing program teams and determine methods for working with executive management, customers, and project stakeholders to foster effective communications on programs and/or projects


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline or equivalent work experience

  • 10 – 15 years experience in Program/Project management leading large organizations and managing complex networks

  • Must maintain eligibility requirements for access to classified information (applicants selected will be subject to a government security re-investigation)

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification, highly desired

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), highly desired

  • Excellent communication, persuasive, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Full life-cycle development demonstrated ability to provide guidance and direction

  • Ability to build and maintain a constructive team spirit where team members are committed to the goals and objective

  • Proven expertise in management and control of funds and resources with demonstrated ability managing multiple tasks
