Job Summary

The Customer Svc Tech responsabilities include, but are not limited to: The installation, maintenance and repair of telephone on customer premises and cable routes. Install and maintain high speed internet circuits and equipment. Performs tasks necessary for service order and repair activity associated with sealed/unsealed network facilities (copper and fiber) from central office frames to Customer Provided Equipment (CPE) systems. Provides installation and maintenance of voice, video, data, and ancillary equipment and network services. Installs, maintains, rearranges, repairs and removes cables, terminals and other associated apparatus in the outside and inside plant network including underground and air pressure maintenance. Performs coin collection and routine maintenance on all pay telephone and associated equipment/wire. Performs other duties as assigned. Recognizes and conveys potential revenue producing opportunities and other duties as assigned.

Full-Time Temporary: will be scheduled to work a minimum of thirty (30) hours per week. Eligible for Medical coverage after 90 days at premium contribution rates without company subsidy. Will be employed with the understanding that his or her employment will last for a limited period of time, not to exceed six (6) months.

Job Description

  • Job requires specialized advanced vocational skills (generally non-theoretical) acquired on or off the job, typically gained through a combination of educations and relevant experience, totaling 4 years post high school or equivalent.

  • High school graduation or equivalent, an associates degree in electronics, or 2 years work related experience or must have completed 12 college credit hours in computer science or electronics is preferred.

  • Posses and maintain valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.

  • Accepts call outs and overtime as conditions of employment.

  • Satisfactorily complete, if required, company schools (AC-DC, Basic OSP, Service Tech Modules, 1,2,3,Basic Transmission and Noise Mitigations and Cable repair.)

  • Successfully meet physical requirements, work from ladders, platforms, poles (with climbers) and bucket truck.

  • Safely lift, carry, set up and secure 75 lb. ladders, able to load\transport standard nitrogen cylinder.

  • Posses strong analytical and problems solving skills.

  • Posses a good attendance, work and safety record and team player skills.

  • Work from oral and written instructions with the ability to plan work without direct supervision.

  • Posses proficient personal computer operations skills.

  • Must be able to work with internal and external customers.
