Sr. Planning Engineer, Geospatial Analytics is a full-time, individual contributor who is part of the Local Planning team in CenturyLink’s North American Operations group. The Geospatial Analytics is responsible for provide GIS (geographic information systems) analytical support, research and analysis of network data. These activities are in support of the local Regional Planner activities of design, cost and inventory of the CenturyLink network..
Develop and deliver information products: maps, charts, reports and other exhibits.
Maintain workgroup-level GIS applications and databases.
Build spatial analysis procedures and produce mapping products in response to business unit needs.
Collect information from databases; process, reformat and provide analyses.
Craft processes and scripts for use in importing and exporting data; data collection.
Perform quality assurance activities with regard to GIS data.
Creation and maintenance of documentation for databases, custom tools & scripts, and team best practices.
Maintains the required project files to ensure that document references, analytical methods, calculations and rationale used in reaching conclusions are complete, pertinent and current.
Extract the relevant information from the overall geospatial data gathered from various sources, analyze and visualize this information and apply analysis methods to enhance this information and solve problems related to intelligence.
Provide the information in presentable form to suffice in various meetings or presentations.
Analyze textual sources and present them in the form of graphics, present a graphical representation of a relevant geographic area.
Locate a specific location graphically to trace it easily by compiling and studying data gathered from various sources.
The Sr. Planning Engineer, Geospatial Analytics is a strong, self-motivated individual with the ability to communicate professionally in a dynamic and fast paced environment while maintaining the highest level of integrity and quality in their work.
General awareness of planning methods and procedures, installation practices and telecom architectures.
Experience with enterprise geodatabases, geodatabases, and other types of databases (SQL, PostgreSQL a plus)
Familiarity with GE Smallworld, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software is a plus.
3-5+ years’ experience using ArcGIS as core part of previous employment.
Experience with AutoCAD, Safe FME, and/or 3GIS is a plus.
ESRI GIS software including the ArcGIS application suite and ArcGIS Server.
Experience with Python, publishing services to ArcGIS server, and/or web application deployment is a big plus.

Strong documentation writing and analytical skills.
Must be highly adept at collaborating with others, at all levels in the organization.
Able to prioritize and complete assignments on time.
Must be highly self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Computer skills sufficient to work in a progressively paperless environment.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, or relevant experience.
