Job Summary

The Web Applications Department develops, supports and maintains custom, web-based applications for CMS and its’ clients. It also integrates those web applications with multiple systems within CMS. We are constantly faced with new challenges by the customer and must come up with solutions using technology. We are looking for applicants that enjoy programming, and solving problems. The applicant will work with our Sales department as well as multiple departments within the CMS production group.

The Programmer develops and supports the company's web portals. The employee will be working with multiple customers in departments across the organization to help solve business problems with technology. This position focuses on Internet Based systems used for Order Management and Customer Service Management. These systems are built on many technologies including C, C++, HTML, Cold Fusion, Java, Javascript, SQL.

Job Description

  • Develop quality code.

  • Evaluate, triage and analyze applications issues reported by system users.

  • Provide regular feedback to management regarding application status, opportunities or problems.

  • Own major project deliverables.

  • Partner with business units to understand the problems.

  • Participate in and/or lead design and code review sessions, providing appropriate feedback as necessary.

  • Monitor production systems identifying system issues and working with team to correct

  • Plan system requirements through discussions with business partners and OGS management.

  • Develop and/or review unit and system test plans.

  • Research new technologies and new uses for current technologies.

  • Share your knowledge with others on the team through cross training, documentation and presentations.

  • Consult with production control, operations and bills on time team to facilitate efficient operations of production billing system.

  • Coordinate with infrastructure and database administrators to accomplish assigned projects.

  • Document all phases of all projects as assigned.


Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience Required for the incumbent to be successful in the job:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Math or equivalent experience.

  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Experience which demonstrates familiarities with software development life cycle and project management techniques or the equivalent in training and experience.

  • 3-5 years experience with C/C++, Cold Fusion or equivalent coursework.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills Education and Experience which would enhance the incumbent's success in the job:

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems.

  • 5 or more years’ experience with C/C++ or Cold Fusion.
