The lead product manager orchestrates programs and initiatives that have a wide reaching broad impact for the product and business, understands and executes within the broader organizational framework, and can prioritize and delegate throughout the business well to achieve the overall product management objective.
Responsible for defining product strategy, developing and executing the product roadmap, managing financial growth and profitability, and developing detailed market requirements for one or more product lines. Participates in the development and lifecycle management of CenturyLink product portfolios. Responsible for maximizing the competitiveness and financial performance of a product portfolio. Requires advanced technical/industry knowledge. An entrepreneurial product leader responsible for defining, developing and leading how we deliver services to our customers. Focused on the customer experience with an ability to understand and translate market opportunities and customer needs into product requirements and product value messaging; along with the ability to create and implement outside of the box customer solutions. Adept at communicating our product capabilities to both internal and external audiences via written and verbal presentations.
This role provides opportunity to make an immediate impact on both our short-term deliverables and long-term strategic goals. Requires leading matrixed organizations responsible for the development and lifecycle management of a complex product ecosystem that includes IT systems, networks, and 3rd party vendors and partners.
Manages all aspects of the portfolio’s financials for growth, revenue, and profitability. Understands and actively manages all of the levers that impact financials including funnel, usage, opex, netex, capex, credits, pricing, churn, and company accounting practices – the CEO of their business.
Develops and articulates vision and market strategy across their product portfolio. Identifies market direction, what’s important to customers, where technology and features are evolving and where the company can effectively compete.
Leads the development of new products and product features by understanding the market, writing detailed market and product requirements, developing financial justification, and championing the ask through leadership to market. Understands the company priorities and where the product development ask ranks among those priorities.
Prepares and delivers executive level presentations that include portfolio performance and portfolio development asks grounded in financial justification and business cases.

Manages specific customer opportunities as they relate directly to driving revenue for the portfolio. Negotiates business terms and conditions of customer contracts. Gathers and prioritizes customer requirements and benchmarks company products to competitor products to evangelize the portfolio roadmap.
Ability to design, negotiate and project manage large, uniquely designed customer implementations.
Subject matter expert for portfolio including competition, market dynamics, points of differentiation, value proposition, and quote to cash processes.
Leads a matrixed team in the continued support of the growth and lifecycle management of the portfolio to dates and deliverables including product marketing plan, engineering, operations, development, and 3rd party vendors and partners
Monitors customer and operational metrics for the portfolio and champions development, organizational, and process improvements in quote to cash processes to ensure a market leading customer experience.
Creates and deliver product related training across all organizations.
Develops and maintains pricing and commercial constructs for product portfolios to maximize growth, profitability, and in line with market dynamics
Business Acumen: Must have an intermediate understanding of company financial measures and financial modeling
Ability to provide leadership for cross-functional teams.
Proactive and self-motivated – ability to drive projects and assignments.

Negotiation skills and experience managing third-party vendor negotiations/relationships.

Knowledge of voice/SIP and other telecommunications and IT technology
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; manage tight deadlines across multiple projects simultaneously, able to get into the weeds (detail oriented).
Ability to distill broad concepts and business strategies into structured product management/marketing plans.
Technical aptitude to understand product dynamics and recommend product enhancements.
Record of success and top-tier achievement in prior work and education experiences.
Travel: Ability to travel as needed (Approx. 10%)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
