The Director of Federal Legislative Affairs is responsible for advocating the interests of the company before congressional policymakers and key federal agencies, with a particular focus on Senate Republicans. The director must also develop excellent relationships with policymakers, formulate sophisticated advocacy on a broad range of technical policy issues, and provide clear guidance to business units about risks and opportunities.

Job Description

Advocate the interests of the company before congressional policymakers and key federal agencies, with a particular focus on Senate Republicans.

Develop and maintain strategic relationships to enhance the company’s profile with policymakers and their staffs, working closely with stakeholders and allies.

Formulate and execute policy advocacy and identify developments that might impact the company on a broad range of issues, including tech and telecom policies, tax proposals, national security interests and federal acquisitions.

Work closely with Regulatory, Legal and Policy Departments, and with Finance, key business units and senior executives to formulate guidance and provide clear assessments of risks and opportunities.

Reports to the Vice President, Federal Legislative Affairs.

This position is based in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

Deep understanding of legislative and political process, and an ability to achieve tangible results.

Familiarity with tech and telecom policy, tax and other policy areas.

Strong communications and interpersonal skills, including clear writing.

Education

Masters or Equivalent

Bachelors or Equivalent in Government
